SUS Orientation
All new members are required to attend a Membership Orientation Class (MOC) within twelve months of joining. The MOC is generally given before our first monthly meeting at the Ponus Yacht Club or the Sons of Italy beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Our Orientation meetings provide an introduction to the "In's and Out's" of how SUS operates, and give you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the Club.
At the MOC, you will receive the MOC booklet, over 40 pages of information about SUS, boating, safety, sailing, Bylaws, checklists, etc. Included in the booklet are several pages of information on boating related course offerings in Fairfield and Westchester counties, as well as a listing of Sailing Schools in the area for those of you who want to learn more about sailing. These lists will be updated as the season progresses, and we encourage everyone to re-enforce SUS sailing adventures with Sailing and Boating classes.
It is important for all Members to become active, contributing, participants in SUS. It's the best way for you to have season after season of great sailing, with some of the best people you may ever meet.
I’m looking forward to seeing you at your Membership Orientation Class.
